The service, Family Ties, allows families to store documents digitally, schedule activities and keep lines of communication open with other family members.
The service includes a Virtual Safety Deposit Box, which allows users to store important documents and have them available at all times.

Lift Caregiving’s launches Family Ties, a free care management tool that helps families more easily manage the care of an aging loved one.

Using cloud technology, Family Ties members are able to:
- Store important documents with a virtual safety deposit box,
- Schedule caregiving activities and
- Update loved ones in real time.
All of this can be completed in once place and within a platform that seamlessly integrates with the user’s existing email and Google calendar systems.

Most people – whether as patients, family caregivers, or health professionals – do not have a good idea of what medical insurance will pay for until the need arises. Family members and patients are often shocked to find that insurance will not pay for many services and items needed at home that are routinely paid for in the hospital. Unless your relative has specific long-term care insurance (and very few people do at this point), many home care needs, especially home care aides or attendants, will not be covered at all or beyond an initial short-term period.

Lift, which was founded in September 2010 and launched its website in February, is designed as a resource center to help those people who don’t know where to start.
The company lists caregivers and providers for a wide variety of services, ranging from elder law to adult day care to assisted living centers. The site is capped at a maximum of five providers per category. It also carries advice from experts in different service areas.
